Being Yourself: What You Read

Being Yourself: What You Read

Of almost all of the “Being Yourself” posts that I have done, I have noticed that I hate on a lot of what other people do and say and give them advice as to how they can change. Now I realize that I can’t change who you are or what you choose to do with your life or how to live it. I have hated so much on the ways that some of you live and even life comfortably, and I’m sorry if I offended any of you. So looking back, I saw that most of them have some hateful stuff in them so I decided to switch it up.
Of all the things that I have talked about when it comes to being yourself, this one I am the most proud of. Not because of arguments I have yet to make or any valid points that I am somehow proud of, but rather, because this one I have seen people do right so often I doubt it’s even a problem. Being yourself, as always means being true to yourself and your interests, and one of those things are the books you read. Genuinely I think that people do a great job of reading what they want, because they escape into a universe of their choosing. Books give people a wide variety of subjects they could escape to, which also provides different people with different tastes. Very rarely do I ever see someone who is reading a book, suggested by a fellow classmate who says it’s fantastic, and not enjoy it at all. If someone doesn’t enjoy a book then chances are they will find a way to set it down as soon as possible because if someone just plain isn’t interested in a subject/topic, they will not want to divulge their attention to paper with pen marks on it for hours on end. It simply doesn’t happen. You could try to get someone to read a series but ultimately it’s up to you and your interests what’s truly good for you. So many people I talk to have so many books they like and popular series that they have never read, such as Twilight, Hunger Games, The Heroes of Olympus, etc. This means they are still joining in on the series/books they enjoy while still not falling for the false claim of being better with this series rather than another. Students and older people alike love books of their choosing and rarely ever sway from someone else’s opinion and change their arsenal of books just because someone tells them to.
To wrap things up, I am so proud of people and what they read and do when they read because they refuse to change for anyone else. They stay who they are and what they like for their own personal benefit, rather than someone else. As always guys thanks for reading so much and I love you all!!!
